How does the marathon relay work?
You can have 2,3 or 4 runners on a team with a good mix of distances to choose from. 1 person can run multiple legs. There are 2 exchanges on course. You are responsible for being at those exchanges on time. Relays have 3 divisions: overall male, overall female, and overall mixed. The relay is a great way to participate without having to complete a full or half-marathon. All relay runners get 26.2 pants and a medal. Visit the relay page for more details.

We recommend that if family and friends are healthy, they should park in a central area and jog or bike around the course. The start is not the best area to see the runners. Many people park at St. Marks Catholic Church, The Landfall Shopping Center, or Harris Teeter on Eastwood Rd. Make sure if you want to see your runner finish, you make time to get to the finish line since many of the roads are blocked from the race. Below are maps for spectator view and a map that shows the best routes to take to get from the course to the finish line.
